1st attempt on Portrait Painting

Heya Peeps!

This is something I did in my free time, had been always drawing portraits by hand base, so I decided hey, why not doing it digitally.
Now I know it is not what you are going to expect but hey, it is my 1st time doing it so yeah, I will still be enhancing my skills on this. :P

1st attempt on Digital Painting

Done in Photoshop CS5, looks a bit squash because I saved it in JPEG.

Here is my first attempt on digital painting, I was told to do a realistic digitally painted sofa on Photoshop.

Took me for 1 and a half day to finish everything, I know it is a long time but I can explain, haha, after all this is my first time doing it and my expectation to my work is kinda high. Thus if it is not good enough I would have did it again.

If you're wondering what are 5 colors painted on top of the sofa, it is the color that was selected for the sofa. It's actually my color palette.

My challenge to digital painting for now is to enhance more on my ability on making ones look realistic, and of course finishing it in a shorter period of time.

I promised myself to practise more on my sketching skills, so I gotta like draw at lease a potrait a day, you know just to enhance my skills. As an artist, yes, I have to do that. As they say, practise makes perfect. :P

After Vanessa, I try to challenge myself by drawing a guy's potrait. Found out that Sterling Knight was  quite suitable for my next potrait. He wasnt any big star like Zac efforn or Brad pitt, but his features are ok to study, hehe,so yup, u can go google more about him if you want to.

Sigh, but one thing for sure, this time I wasnt really impress on my outcoming, It doesnt really look like him, maybe I miss some important features. Like I say, even a small line or some curve makes alot of difference. Hmm, but atlease I know I still need alot of practise.

Sketching Time

Hey Peeps,

Lately, had been dealing with my drawings, which cover up the sketching technique.
Sketching issnt really an easy thing to do, you got to have the drawing technique and good observation skills to achieve the best sketch. Every curve, line, shade counts when you come to sketching. It is challenging to me as sketch helps to train your level of observation on an object.

Before I decided which drawing to post here, I had practice alot. I am not going to post the rest up as I think it wasnt really up to my standard yet. This sketch here is the best I can do for now... :)

Time, is so cruel

Have you heard of the song, teardrops of my guitar wrote and sang by Taylor Swift? I bet you did right? After all, Taylor is one of the best female artist in this generation. 



It was yesterday night where I got this inspiration to re-write this song. Since I am not really good enough to write a new lyrics, I decided to change some of the lines in the lyrics and also tring not to make it sound weird.

This song is actually dedicated to all the poeple out there whom had lost their best buddy due to some girl/guy relationship.



Did you ever felt that way before? Like in a moment, your best buddy is everything to you, and then in a sec later, they werent always there anymore, because they grow up, and had move on, when they finally found the one they were looking for all these time. And every day and night, they are the only one that is running in your mind, because you just cant seem to accept the truth. Actually I dont really blame them, because eventually, one day, that will happen to me too, its a fact of life. The only thing that I can blame on is the time. No matter poor, sad, rich, happy, not ready, scared, TIME waits for no one. So cherish every single moment you have, appreciate those whom you love, because you will never know, when will you loose them.



If you know the song, teardrops of my guitar, you can sing along with the rythm, because the only thing I did is changing some of the lyrics. Hope you will like it...cheers!

Next stop, Tasik Kenyir!!

Travelling, ahhhh, wonderful word isnt it?
Remember I was telling you that I love to travel around?I finally got a chance again, but this time, closer to mother nature. My destination was Tasik Kenyir, Terengganu, Malaysia. Estimate 8hours drive from KL to Terengganu.
Ofcause, with my D3100, got alot of nice pictures to share with you peeps out there.

Terengganu facing towards South China Sea is among the 13 states in Malaysia. It has the longest crystal sandy beach in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Well known for her emerald sea, golden sunlight and coral island rich in marine life. Bordered by Kelantan to the northern part and Pahang to the western and southern part.

Kenyir Lake became one of the most magnificent tourist sports in Terengganu as well as in Malaysia. Kenyir luxurious forest is located in the district of Hulu Terengganu, which lies at a longitude of 102 degree 40 minutes and 4 degree and 40 minutes in latitude. It is believed that the rain forest is the world oldest tropical rainforest. The forest also serves as a part of Malaysia National Park.

So basically, it was a relaxing trip, no rushing, no sleeping late. Its just you and the mother nature. My family and I went for a boat hotel. That means, we travel around Tasik Kenyir by that boat.

The rooms that we had, it wasnt really comfortable

for a city person to live in cause there is....

But anyways, back to the topic, getting closer to mother nature,

so, yeah.

Theres only a fan per room. Since its a monsoon season,

Its freezing cold! both morning and night. So I actually dont

mind having just a fan in a room.:)

This is where we hang our wet cloths, the black color tong

is the tangki that stores our drinking and bathing water.

The boat hotel, ot bad huh?

The kitchen and toilet is on the 1st floor while the rooms are on the 2nd floor.

All together, four rooms.

The food are ok. Alot of seafood since we are living on a lake.Four meals per day, yum yum eh?haha, this is what Malaysians do best, eat!

Even instant noodles was served, I know,

calories eh?but who cares, I on holiday..

muahahaha

This is what the scenery looks like in Tasik Kenyir. Mountains, water, fishes, waterfalls and etc.It is a really relaxing place where you can finally take your mind off the buzy schedule and just slow down and see the beauty of nature.

On the first night, this is where our boat is parked for the night.

So thats the end of my little trip to Tasik Kenyir, if you had a chance, do go there too! Bring your family or friends along. You'll definately find joy, peace and relax in this trip.

The true meaning of celebrating Christmas

Christmas is around the corner, you might have brought Christmas present for your love ones, had already started recieving invitation cards to Chritmas party or even had put up a Christmas tree at home,waiting for Santa to come to fill up the empty space below the tree with full of presents (no doubt weather you are a Christian or not) huh? Of cause, 'Tis the season to be jolly" that is how the song goes. Christmas is also called as a season of giving, sharing and just being with love ones.To feel jolly, happy, crazy. But, is that all you know about Chritsmas? Is Christmas really all about just giving?


In recent decades, many have sought to "secularize" Christmas, removing from it all references to Jesus Christ and His birth. In the United States, legal challenges have successfully removed manger scenes from courthouse squares, and have created a climate in which many school choirs avoid singing Christmas carols with religious themes. Yet, as much as references to Jesus Christ and His birth have been downplayed, Santa Claus has become an unavoidable part of the season. This is also obviuos when the term "Merry Christmas" had also changed to " Merry X'mas" or  "Happy holidays". Issnt it just sad to see this happening in the world?



To help us understand, we can look at the word "Christmas" itself. It means "mass of Christ," and has its origins in the practices of the Roman Catholic Church. Yet even Catholic sources acknowledge that Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the church, and that it does not have apostolic origins. Notice: "Christmas (i.e. the Mass of Christ), in the Christian Church, the festival of the nativity of Jesus Christ… As late as 245 Origen, in his eighth homily on Leviticus, repudiates as sinful the very idea of keeping the birthday of Christ 'as if he were a king Pharaoh.' He was not created by a human father and mother. He had a heavenly pre-existence (John 1:1-3, 14). He is God, the Son—Creator of the universe (Philippians 2:5-11). This is why Christmas is called the incarnation, a word which means “in the flesh.” In the birth of Jesus, the eternal, all-powerful and all-knowing Creator came to earth in the flesh.
Why would God do such a thing? Why would he come as a baby, instead of appearing in power and majesty? Why make himself a true man and live among us, when he knew full well how terribly he would be treated?
